Score after 12 overs RCB 118-3

11.5
Henriques to Watson, 1 run, to sweeper cover
Shane Watson, right handed bat, comes to the crease
11.4
Henriques to Kedar Jadhav, out Kedar Jadhav Run Out!! 1 run completed. Cutting has conjured a wicket out of nowhere. That’s a sensational throw from the deep. My goodness. He’s absolutely nailed the stump from long leg and Jadhav is out of here. This is a huge moment in the context of the match, especially as Jadhav was looking so good. Even this shot which he played was extraordinary. It was a length ball outside off, Jadhav sat on his back knee and scooped it over short fine leg. Kedar Jadhav run out (Cutting) 31(16) [4s-4 6s-1]
Henriques to Kedar Jadhav, THAT’S OUT!! Run Out!!
11.3
Henriques to Head, 1 run, has an almighty heave at a back of a length delivery but miscues it to long leg
11.2
Henriques to Head, 2 runs, short of length, Henriques cuts his fingers across the seam this time. Head gets on top of the bounce and whips it to the left of long-on
11.1
Henriques to Kedar Jadhav, 1 run, steps out of the crease way before Henriques has released the ball. Henriques adjusts and pulls the length back a touch to contain Jadhav to a steer towards backward point

10.6
Nehra to Kedar Jadhav, 1 run, nails the pull off the back foot but it goes straight to fine leg. The fielder was pushed back for this ball
10.5
Nehra to Kedar Jadhav, FOUR, four more. Jadhav starting to really find his timing now and he’s looking dangerous. This is smart batting rather than just throwing his bat at everything. He knows that fine leg is up and so he waits for the back of a length delivery to come to him before pulling it over the fielder. Nehra under pressure
10.4
Nehra to Kedar Jadhav, FOUR, another full toss, it’s Jadhav this time and he picks his spot into the deep mid-wicket fence. Not great bowling from Nehra. He’s missing the yorker by quite a bit
10.3
Nehra to Head, 1 run, two out of two. That’s two full tosses in this over now which Head has crunched but found the fielder in the deep. Flogs it on the bounce to deep square leg
10.2
Nehra to Kedar Jadhav, 1 run, short of length into the body of Jadhav, he tucks it into the square leg region for a single
10.2
Nehra to Kedar Jadhav, wide, strays down the leg-side, Jadhav swishes and misses
10.1
Nehra to Head, 1 run, walks at Nehra and takes it on the full before whipping the delivery backward of square on the on-side. Could have been two had they pushed hard as long leg had some distance to cover

9.6
Henriques to Kedar Jadhav, FOUR, hit straight back at Henriques and he was late to get his hand up. Once more the off-cutter which almost fooled Jadhav, who shimmied down and checked his drive, middled it alright to beat the mid-off fielder
9.5
Henriques to Head, 1 run, bit sloppy from the Australian. Very full and Head drives it back to the bowler, Henriques does not bend down in time and allows the ball to escape through his legs
9.4
Henriques to Head, no run, clever from Henriques. Rolls his fingers across the ball and robs it off all the pace, Head’s attempt to run it down to third man is foiled by the slowness on the delivery
9.3
Henriques to Kedar Jadhav, 1 run, short and outside off, Jadhav cuts it straight to sweeper cover
9.2
Henriques to Head, 1 run, might have been the slower one from Henriques as Head checked his push, got it to the left of the bowler and down to long-on
9.1
Henriques to Head, FOUR, Head does the most of the full length delivery, stays deep in the crease and opens himself up to free his arms, smashes it straight down the ground and even a quick Warner could not reach that from long-on
Free-hit coming up..
9.1
Henriques to Kedar Jadhav, no ball, 1 run, both umpires have their hand up, a high full toss from Henriques, a surprised Jadhav does well to get some bat and tuck it behind square leg
Moises Henriques, right-arm fast medium, comes into the attack

8.6
Cutting to Kedar Jadhav, 1 run, off-speed delivery and Jadhav mistimes the drive wide of cover, calls for a quick single and Head responds
8.5
Cutting to Kedar Jadhav, SIX, that looked like a half-hearted shot from Jadhav and it has travelled the distance. Picked the back of a length delivery and pulled it to the vacant deep mid-wicket region, just cleared the rope
8.4
Cutting to Head, 1 run, short and outside off, Head cuts it square and the sweeper keeps it to a single
Some confusion regarding the field placings. Cutting counts and there are only three men inside the ring. Calls one of the boundary riders in
8.3
Cutting to Kedar Jadhav, 1 run, dug in short and barely gets up to chest height, Jadhav cue-ends the pull in front of fine leg
8.2
Cutting to Kedar Jadhav, no run, short and wide outside off, Jadhav chops the cut towards cover. Went a bit too hard and lost his shape as well as his balance
8.2
Cutting to Kedar Jadhav, wide, sprays it down leg and Jadhav moved inside the line to help it on its way, missed and collects a wide
8.1
Cutting to Head, 1 run, short of length around off, Head shuffles across and clips it to deep mid-wicket
Ben Cutting [1.0-0-5-0] is back into the attack

7.6
Rashid Khan to Kedar Jadhav, FOUR, ordinary delivery from Rashid and Jadhav is all over it. The young man is shaking his head while taking his cap from the umpire. Half tracker which sat up nicely for Jadhav, who pulls it between deep mid-wicket and long-on
7.5
Rashid Khan to Head, 1 run, on the thighs and tucked away square on the leg-side
7.4
Rashid Khan to Kedar Jadhav, 1 run, googly and not sure Jadhav picked it, ekes out an inside edge onto the pad and the ball deflects to square leg
7.3
Rashid Khan to Head, 1 run, eases the drive to long-off
7.2
Rashid Khan to Head, 2 runs, now uses his wrists to work one in the gap, right between long-on and deep mid-wicket. Called for two and Jadhav made it in with ease
7.1
Rashid Khan to Head, FOUR, lots of flighted and lands as a half volley, Head gets a good stride forward and drives it past Henriques at extra cover, the timing was superb as long-off had no chance of cutting that off

6.6
Deepak Hooda to Kedar Jadhav, no run, closes the bat face and the soft leading edge rolls towards cover
Stays round the wicket for Jadhav..
6.5
Deepak Hooda to Head, 1 run, an extended forward defence past the diving Hooda, down to long-off
6.4
Deepak Hooda to Head, no run, driven firmly to extra cover
Kedar Jadhav, right handed bat, comes to the crease
6.3
Deepak Hooda to Gayle, out Caught by Warner!! It was an experiment from Warner and it has paid off. Completes the catch, turns towards the crowd and does a fist pump. RCB have lost two in quick succession. Both set batsmen gone. Slows it up as Gayle gives the charge, he goes through with the loft even though he isn’t to pitch of the ball, miscues it towards long-off and Warner ain’t dropping those. Gayle c Warner b Deepak Hooda 32(21) [4s-2 6s-3]
Deepak Hooda to Gayle, THAT’S OUT!! Caught!!
6.2
Deepak Hooda to Gayle, SIX, a gift from Hooda and Gayle thumps it over the rope. A full toss outside off, Gayle takes a step out and slots it straight back over the bowler’s head. Went miles back into the crowd
6.1
Deepak Hooda to Gayle, no run, knocked to extra cover
Deepak Hooda, right-arm off break, comes into the attack

5.6
Rashid Khan to Head, no run, very full and Head digs it out to mid-off. Excellent start from Rashid, a wicket in his first over and just the six runs
5.5
Rashid Khan to Head, 2 runs, drifting onto the pads and that’s easy pickings for Head, tucks it square and jogs back for the second
Travis Head, left handed bat, comes to the crease
5.4
Rashid Khan to Mandeep, out Bowled!! He strikes! The customary celebration follows. One hand up and the finger pointing skywards. The most delighted man in the dugout was his fellow countryman – Mohammad Nabi. He too had his finger up in celebration. The quicker wrong ‘un and Mandeep clearly did not pick it, went back for the cut and gets cramped for room, only manages a chop onto the stumps. Mandeep b Rashid Khan 24(16) [4s-5]
Rashid Khan to Mandeep, THAT’S OUT!! Bowled!!
5.3
Rashid Khan to Mandeep, no run, googly on the shorter side and Mandeep cuts it to cover-point
5.2
Rashid Khan to Mandeep, FOUR, Rashid throws it up once more and this time Mandeep threads the crowded off-side field. Overpitched and Mandeep went full-throttle on the drive, raced to the sweeper fence
5.1
Rashid Khan to Mandeep, no run, floated up outside off, Mandeep drives and picks out extra cover
Rashid Khan, right-arm leg break, comes into the attack
Here’s the genius from Afghanistan. A slip for him..

4.6
Cutting to Gayle, FOUR, not convincing, but Gayle will take that. A very good over from Cutting. Just misses the length this ball, goes full and that allows Gayle to get underneath and hoick it over mid-wicket. Not off the middle but enough to clear the fielder
4.5
Cutting to Gayle, no run, another dot. Cutting is bowling to his field. He’s packed the off-side field and bowled accordingly. Short of length and just outside off, punched to extra cover
4.4
Cutting to Gayle, no run, beaten! Cutting is mixing it up nicely. Back of length and just outside off, Gayle goes for the big heave to the leg-side and it is turning out to be an excellent over so far
4.4
Cutting to Gayle, wide, the ploy is clear from Cutting, kept away from Gayle’s bat. Slanted outside off, Gayle went chasing after it and is almost swept off his feet, fails to connect and the umpire calls it a wide
4.3
Cutting to Gayle, no run, good length ball just outside off, drilled to mid-off, straight to Warner
Third man in and two men deep on the leg-side..
4.2
Cutting to Gayle, no run, the set-up from Cutting. Follows the bouncer with a full and wide one, Gayle did not back away from the challenge, he wanted to carve it over mid-off but is nowhere close to the ball
4.1
Cutting to Gayle, no run, umpire Llong at square leg calls one for the over. Cutting introduces himself with a bouncer, right near Gayle’s head, the Jamaican half-ducks and evades it comfortably
Ben Cutting, right-arm fast medium, comes into the attack

3.6
Bhuvneshwar to Mandeep, FOUR, Mandeep is playing the perfect foil to Gayle. Warner already worried. Full on middle and leg, whipped through mid-wicket and mid-on. Hit uppishly but placed it expertly in the gap
3.5
Bhuvneshwar to Gayle, 1 run, sensible batting. Acknowledges the fact that this delivery was not hittable, taps it with soft hands in front of mid-off and scampers across for a quick single
3.4
Bhuvneshwar to Gayle, no run, on a length and just outside off, knocked to extra cover
3.4
Bhuvneshwar to Gayle, wide, that is the impact Gayle has on bowlers. Even a generally accurate Bhuvneshwar loses his radar, fires it full and well outside off, cuts the tramline and is called for it
3.3
Bhuvneshwar to Gayle, 2 runs, too straight, on middle and leg, flicked away behind square and it is wide enough of the deep square leg fielder for Gayle to come back for the second
3.2
Bhuvneshwar to Gayle, SIX, Gayle is in the mood. Mind you, he’s not been in the best of forms, but IPL is his cup of tea. Bhuvneshwar dishes a full length delivery and hopes to get away with it, Gayle doesn’t allow him to, carves it over long-on for his second maximum
3.1
Bhuvneshwar to Mandeep, 1 run, back of a length on off, Singh is cramped for room and mistimes the pull through mid-wicket

2.6
Nehra to Gayle, SIX, that ball hung in the night sky for eternity. Never looked like coming down. For what it’s worth Gayle gets the maximum result. Length delivery right in the swinging zone and Gayle did not hold back, went full-monty and heaved it over deep mid-wicket. Six number one for Gayle in IPL 10
2.5
Nehra to Mandeep, 1 run, very full and almost in the blockhole, squeezed to third man
Round the wicket now..
2.4
Nehra to Mandeep, FOUR, might have been the slower one and Mandeep picked the bones out of that one. He cleared his front leg to give him more options and then slots the loft over mid-on, one bounce and over the rope
2.3
Nehra to Gayle, 1 run, short of length on off, Gayle swats the pull to deep square leg
2.2
Nehra to Gayle, FOUR, Nehra goes back to the shorter length, Gayle seems a tad comfortable with that, hops on one leg and uses Nehra’s pace to guide it past the diving short fine leg fielder
2.1
Nehra to Gayle, no run, how did that miss the off-pole? Pitched up and Gayle thought it was in the arc for him, he didn’t account for the inward movement and the ball beats the inside edge, almost kissed the sticks on the way to Ojha

1.6
Bhuvneshwar to Mandeep, no run, just the single. Back of length and outside off, Mandeep stands tall and flays it to Yuvraj at cover-point. A tidy start from Bhuvi after an expensive one from Nehra
1.5
Bhuvneshwar to Mandeep, no run, fuller and just outside off, defended off the front foot
1.4
Bhuvneshwar to Mandeep, no run, for the second time in the innings Mandeep goes hard on the drive and mistimes it back to Bhuvi. He needs to remember how he got his second boundary
1.3
Bhuvneshwar to Gayle, 1 run, now squared up. Shortens the length and gets it to hold its line around off, Gayle is going nowhere with his feet, just gets opened up and uses the bat face to run down to third man
1.2
Bhuvneshwar to Gayle, no run, good length ball on the stumps, Gayle rooted to the crease, brings his bat in front of the pad and keeps it out. He never looks comfortable against Bhuvi
A slip in for Bhuvi as well..
1.1
Bhuvneshwar to Gayle, no run, almost a nick! Throws the bait outside off for Gayle, the Jamaican goes for an ambitious drive without any foot movement, the ball keeps going with the angle and beats the outside edge. Bhuvi has a wry smile on his face
Bhuvneshwar Kumar, right-arm medium, comes into the attack

Score after 1 overs RCB 11-0

0.6
Nehra to Mandeep, FOUR, back-to-back boundaries to end the first over. Again, Nehra is a tad short in his length, Mandeep had the width to cut and he didn’t try to hit it hard, just placed it behind point and Bhuvi at third man gave up the chase pretty quickly
0.5
Nehra to Mandeep, FOUR, first boundary for Mandeep and RCB. Full and on the pads, needed to be put away and Mandeep did just that, picked it up and dispatched it over mid-wicket, couple of bounces and into the fence
0.4
Nehra to Mandeep, 2 runs, the call was two as soon as Mandeep played that, since the ball was into the vast vacant areas Gayle was game. Short of length and Mandeep is almost cramped for room, but somehow manages to get the pull away in front of square on the leg-side
Fine leg in and square leg back..
0.3
Nehra to Mandeep, no run, touch short and hint of space outside off, Mandeep cracks the cut straight to cover-point
0.2
Nehra to Mandeep, no run, on a length and slanted outside off, Mandeep drives sans footwork and the big inside edge rolls to the right of Nehra
0.1
Nehra to Gayle, 1 run, bit of shape for Nehra. Back of a length delivery just outside off, Gayle is opeened up in his crease and he opens the bat face to run it down to third man, he is off the mark

========================================================

This is a carnage. The tenth season provides a perfect deja vu to the first. It was BMac back then, it is Yuvi today. 207 runs and just the four wickets that could be pocketed. Every soul in the line up contributed but it is all to be forgotten in the due course of time with the scintillating blitz from Yuvraj set to grab all the headlines. The timing, the sound of the bat, the crunch – stuff we’ve missed for years has come back into our lives. He was certainly helped by the bowlers’ refusal to bowl to the field, to bowl as per the pitch. Mind you, this pitch is a real beauty and the batting to follow here is a beast. Could well be a replay of this innings. 10 mins to that..

Score after 20 overs  SRH 207-4

19.6
Watson to Cutting, SIX, a dramatic photo finish. Watson tries another short one but this time Cutting ain’t surprised. Stands up, uses his entire height to good effect and smokes it away. Admiring it as he does so. As flat as the bat motion could get
19.5
Watson to Cutting, no run, a smart change up. Bangs it in and it sponges over a surprised bat
19.4
Watson to Cutting, 2 runs, keeps striding behind. Keeps shuffling across. And keeps drilling it away, this time to long-on
19.3
Watson to Cutting, SIX, the yorkers too cannot stop the bleeding. Cutting rocks way inside, crouches, gets underneath the supposed yorker and carries on from the finals a year ago in tonking the drive
19.2
Watson to Deepak Hooda, 1 run, makes Hooda stretch. In reaching out to this wide one. Loses his bat too in the process as he stabs it square
19.1
Watson to Cutting, 1 run, clears the front leg, gets the bat down with a massive swing and squirts it off the outside portion of the blade behind square
Shane Watson [2.0-0-25-0] is back into the attack

Score after 19 overs SRH 191-4

18.6
Tymal Mills to Deepak Hooda, no run, gets away in looking to guide it through the cordon. Nope, this is no Yuvi. And nope, there is no connection
18.5
Tymal Mills to Cutting, 1 run, gets behind and muscles the mow down the ground
Ben Cutting, right handed bat, comes to the crease
18.4
Tymal Mills to Yuvraj, out Bowled!! The zings light up. The crowd refuses to believe and keep searching for the ball. Nope, that’s the end of the fun in store folks. Mills for a change aims for the stumps, going slower as well. Nicely off the back of the hand and foxes him with the seam position. A swat across the line is missed eventually and the top of leg takes the brunt. This has been some serious clock roll back here. Makes me feel 10 years younger. Yuvraj b Tymal Mills 62(27) [4s-7 6s-3]
Tymal Mills to Yuvraj, THAT’S OUT!! Bowled!!
18.3
Tymal Mills to Yuvraj, SIX, the murder continues. Mass murder. Another spirit buries itself inside this pitch. Overcompensates going short, going quick but the response is quicker. Is brutal too. Back to his high backlifted pulls. Gravity too cannot pull it down
18.2
Tymal Mills to Yuvraj, FOUR, full, down leg. Nothing right with that. Certainly not if fine leg is inside. Certainly not if that man is Chris Gayle. All Yuvraj has to do is get the bat down in giving it some tickle. And places it wide and into the ropes
18.1
Tymal Mills to Deepak Hooda, 1 run, makes him wait. And wait some more. All that for the fastest bowler’s bouncer to get up to him. Tries some sort of a right angled forearm pull

Score after 18 overs SRH 179-3

17.6
Aniket Choudhary to Deepak Hooda, 1 run, walks well inside his crease. Even behind his stumps. In his attempt to get under the skin of the yorker to whip it in front of square
17.5
Aniket Choudhary to Deepak Hooda, 2 runs, something to the bowler. After having a half-century against his name. A nice height on the bouncer and Hooda with his desperate attempt to keep the ball out gets the bat up and fends it out. Lobs over the keeper
17.4
Aniket Choudhary to Yuvraj, 1 run, almost the wide yorker. For a change it is just a single with a slice to third man
17.3
Aniket Choudhary to Yuvraj, FOUR, a salute in celebration. Takes the bat to his head in holding it up to his team mates inside. Covers all his sticks with a shuffle and after getting bored of the wides throws the kitchen sink at it and slaps it over point. #HisFastestIPLFifty
17.3
Aniket Choudhary to Yuvraj, wide, and more of it. Serious pressure telling here. Can’t blame him. There are RCB people feeling it here in our box. Fires it in way outside off
17.3
Aniket Choudhary to Yuvraj, wide, a scared wide. Tries the yorker off-paced stuff. Way outside the permissable limits
17.2
Aniket Choudhary to Deepak Hooda, 1 run, off the outer half of the bat as the slice gets skewed big time. Over point
17.1
Aniket Choudhary to Deepak Hooda, SIX, the march to the double ton gets another gear. And some help from Chahal in tipping it over the fence. Hooda opens up and uses his entire height to good effect in his tall pull. Mid-wicket takes another one in its kitty

Score after 17 overs SRH 162-3

Deepak Hooda, right handed bat, comes to the crease

15.2
Chahal to Henriques, out Caught by Sachin Baby!! Some normalcy restored. And as always is the case, it is spin that gets on that duty. Chahal doesn’t mind giving it some air inviting the big swing. And gets just that. A full-blooded tonk down and skewed away. Almost teases Henriques c Sachin Baby b Chahal 52(37) [4s-3 6s-2]
Chahal to Henriques, THAT’S OUT!! Caught!!
15.1
Chahal to Henriques, no run, a quick, flat dart on middle. A rare dot in patting it back to the bowler
Yuzvendra Chahal [3.0-0-18-0] is back into the attack

Score after 15 overs SRH 151-2

14.6
Aravind to Henriques, 1 run, to mid wicket
14.5
Aravind to Henriques, SIX, now Henriques joins the act. Wants to ive his partner a run for his money. A run for some crowd catchers. Keeps banging it in short with the pitch sucking away all the momentum.
14.4
Aravind to Yuvraj, 1 run, doesn’t bother keeping the clip off the pads down. Nice bat swing to deposit this on the bounce to the covering up fine leg
14.3
Aravind to Yuvraj, SIX, into the first tier. And a standing admire from Yuvraj. Aravind serves a pie with the short sitter and heaved away. So very typical. Equally friendly bowling here as well
14.2
Aravind to Henriques, 1 run, nipping in through the air. More of the flicks off the boots
14.1
Aravind to Henriques, FOUR, on the charge. And the slap. The combo bags yet another fence hunter. Walks down, intercepts the length and gets on top of the bounce of this back of a length delivery in flaying it in front of square
Sreenath Aravind [2.0-0-17-0] is back into the attack

Score after 14 overs SRH 132-2

13.6
Watson to Henriques, 1 run, the straighter yorker this time, on the base of the sticks. Flicked away through mid-on
13.5
Watson to Henriques, no run, 132kph. Smart stuff. Teases Henriques with the wide yorker. And does it successfully for a change. With the feet refusing to move the non-connection with the drive is no surprise
13.4
Watson to Yuvraj, 1 run, keeps aiming for the full wide ones. A shuffle across and a whip executed to deep mid-wicket
13.3
Watson to Henriques, 1 run, full, veering in on the pads. The sensible ploy here from Moises in knocking the singles. This time to mid-wicket with a wrist roll
13.2
Watson to Yuvraj, 1 run, swings his bat out at a wide one away from his body. Directs the outside edge to third man
13.1
Watson to Yuvraj, FOUR, back to the usual. Is this a surprise anymore. This time the skipper decides to test him with a short one, one that neither has the pace nor the bounce. And obliged with a swat. As flat as you’d want
Shane Watson [1.0-0-17-0] is back into the attack
Score after 13 overs SRH 124-2

12.6
Aniket Choudhary to Yuvraj, 1 run, oh Aravind. You really do not grant a life. Certainly not to this guy. Another compulsive pull here from Yuvraj but with the ball gaining in height, only manages the top-edge. Right into the hands of fine leg, who slides and makes an absolute mess
12.5
Aniket Choudhary to Yuvraj, 2 runs, reaches out with every cell of his body reaching out and stabs it behind point
12.5
Aniket Choudhary to Yuvraj, wide, way too wide. Cutting the tramline. Too defensive for the umpire to forgive after Yuvraj refuses to mess around
12.4
Aniket Choudhary to Yuvraj, no run, finally the bat withdrawal. Decides for a change to spare the agony with a bat pull out of the way of a short pepper
12.3
Aniket Choudhary to Yuvraj, FOUR, and it keeps getting better. Rocks back, stands tall, waits for the short drag down to sit up and swats in his swivel. All the crunch in the timing to reintroduce it back into the fence
12.2
Aniket Choudhary to Yuvraj, SIX, whoa. This is getting back in the 2007 zone. Choudhary without a clue as to where to bowl goes full and wide. The mind-reader gets the front leg out and unleashes a full bat swing showing the maker’s name in tonking it right on the extra cover ropes
12.1
Aniket Choudhary to Yuvraj, FOUR, streaky. But the runs keeps leaking. Does it really matter how. Wide, half way down the track and Yuvraj anticipates the ball to fizz up in flat batting it across. There’s barely any climb, and all he gets is the inside edge to impart the direction in guiding it just past the sticks
Aniket Choudhary [2.0-0-20-1] is back into the attack

Score after 12 overs SRH 106-2

11.6
Aravind to Yuvraj, 1 run, back to granting the width after overcompensating. A carve down to third man
11.5
Aravind to Yuvraj, FOUR, here’s the pick up. Vintage Yuvraj. Helped by an allying half volley on the pads at gentle pace and all he does with it is lovingly lofts his flick. All the timing and a bounce into the mid-wicket fence
11.4
Aravind to Henriques, 1 run, a flash. With all the wrists in wielding the sword. Fences it a lot finer than he would have liked
11.3
Aravind to Yuvraj, 1 run, backs away with his body arching back. All that before waiting for the ball to get right close and keeps third man busy with his run downs
11.2
Aravind to Yuvraj, no run, 118kph, off a length and on the tight lines around off. A tapped push to cover
