Sri Lanka 102/5 in 15 Overs Sri Lanka continue to go for the big hits and are connecting quite a few of those. First, it was Siriwardana who cleared the ropes and now Shanaka is in the act, heaving Raina over the ropes.
Sri Lanka 86/5 in 14 Overs Siriwardana thumps Jadeja out of the park for a huge six. It was out of the screws and the ball went over the ropes with ease. The ball is worked around the corner for a single and the batsmen get a couple of more singles. 11 comes from the over.

Sri Lanka 68/4 in 12.2 Overs India finally get the wicket of Kapugedera. No doubts about the legitimacy of this take. The ball goes high in the air as he goes for a big heave yet again. Pandya runs from long on to take a catch in the deep.
Sri Lanka 68/3 in 11 Overs Indians have broken the partnership, so they think. Yuvraj pitches the ball short and the ball is clubbed down the ground, Rohit Sharma covers a lot of ground and takes a catch but replays shows that he has grounded it. Rohit features again in the over as he misfields the ball in the deep and concedes a boundary.
Sri Lanka 59/3 in 10 Overs Jadeja come on to bowl and the ball is flicked to the corner for a couple. Bumrah did very well in the deep to slide and push the ball away. Another excellent over for India as only six comes of it.

Sri Lanka 44/3 in 8 Overs Jadeja is into the attack to further suffocate the Sri Lankans. Manish Pandey is on the field as a substitute fielder. Just five runs from the first Jadeja over. Sri Lankans need a couple of 20 + run overs to get into the contest.
Sri Lanka 37/3 in 6 Overs Dhoni continues to operate with Ashwin and Nehra. Kapugedera played a couple of excellent shorts on both sides of the wicket. First, it was a short ball that was pulled to the boundary. Then came a half-volley that was driven through the covers for another four.

Sri Lanka 16/3 in 3.2 Overs Nehra is brought back on and the over starts horribly, with Hardik Pandya parrying the ball to the boundary off a misfield. Then, Gunathilaka goes for a big drive and edges the ball to the keeper. This is turning far to easy for India. Gunathilaka c Dhoni b Nehra 2 (7)

Sri Lanka 9/2 in 2 Overs Hardik Pandya makes a valiant effort at mid-on but spoons it. India almost had a third and it was Dinesh Chandimal, who came down the track and went for a pull. Chandimal then follows it with a crack on the off-side for a boundary.
Sri Lanka 3/2 in 1.1 Overs India have another wicket and Ashish Nehra strikes with his first ball. It was a slow delivery and Prasanna, who was sent up the order chips the ball in the air and Yuvraj Singh takes an excellent diving catch.
Sri Lanka 3/1 in 1 Overs Fantastic stumping from Dhoni and India have a wicket here and the decision to play Ashwin in the first over pays off. India have a break through!
India 196/6 in 20 overs Chameera bowls the final over. The deliveries were in the slot for Dhoni to play his shots but he hopelessly misses most of them. He squeezes a boundary of the last ball. Sri Lanka have done very well to restrict India somewhat. The hosts still have a matchwinning score
India 186/6 in 19 overs Thisara Perera makes a double strike and India are losing their way here. Pandya went for a slog and holed out at long on. Raina went for an uncharecteristic paddle sweep and he goes too. Yuvraj gets a full toss and the ball goes straight to long-on’s throat. HAT TRICK for Thisara Perera!! OUT! H Pandya c Gunathilaka b Perera 27 (12), S Raina c Chameera b Perera, Y Singh c Senanayake b Perera 0 (1)
India 179/3 in 18 overs More boundaries for India, who are having a terrific spell here post the Sri Lankan spinners restricting the batsmen. Raina was labouring around but two full deliveries on his legs and the southpaw dispatches the ball with consummate ease. Chameera then bowls a terrible wide delivery, next comes a short ball, which is pulled away and the fielder in the deep makes a mess of it, another four. Indians get more runs as the ball takes a thick edge and goes past ‘keeper Chandimal, four more. Single to end the over. Catch the Live Scorecard of the match here

Both deliveries were pitched only a fraction short but the batsman effortlessly struck the ball over the ropes. The second one was slightly fuller. The off-spinner rushes the ball onto the batsmen, even bowling a top notch yorker to Pandya. Four singles to end the over.
India 145/3 in 16 overs Rajitha is back into the attack and Pandya does well to cart the ball over the mid-on region for a boundary. A better over for India turns into an excellent one as Raina also finds his stride, driving a wide delivery to the extra cover fence.
India 131/3 in 15 overs The over comes to an end with Hardik Pandya working the ball off his legs for a couple. Just four runs from the over, a priceless one under the circumstances.

India 127/2 in 14 overs Suresh Raina has come to the crease and the Sri Lankans, predictably are peppering him with short balls. The Indians are not going for anything silly now. Just four singles and a wide from that over. Chameera has been terrific for the visitors.
India 122/2 in 13.1 overs Chameera gets the second wicket and Rohit falls in identical fashion from the first game, chipping the ball back but the bowler should all the credit for leaping full stretch to right and clinging on to the ball. Rohit Sharma departs after a handy stay. R Sharma c & b Chameera 43 (36)
India 122/1 in 13 overs Shanaka is being handed the ball for the first time in the game. Rahane clubbed the ball over his over his head and it’s a much need boundary for India. Then comes Rohit’s turn and the ball is trickled down to fence for another four.
India 110/1 in 12 overs Sri Lanka are attacking with spin at one end and Prasanna, despite not threatening the batsmen is doing well to stem the flow of boundaries. But, he errs off the last ball, delivering a short one, which is dispatched over the ropes for a big SIX
India 100/1 in 11 overs Sri Lankans are being sloppy on the field t0o and Indians are getting cheap runs. The time is right for Sri Lanka to apply pressure and tie the batsmen down. They have done one part right by drying up the boundaries. India have brought up their hundred with Rahane getting a single with a push to mid-off.
India 93/1 in 10 overs Seekugge Prasanna is getting good purchase from the wicket. The boundaries have dried up for India and the ball is keeping low on occasions. The off-spinner also deserves credit for tying the batsmen down.
India 82/1 in 9 overs Spin is on and the Sri Lankans have wrestled some of the momentum back after being taken to the cleaners in the powerplay. Rahane has got off to quite an apprehensive start. Rohit is also biding his time at the crease now.
India 75/1 in 7 overs Shikhar Dhawan brings up his fifty and it has come up in just 22 balls. It is also the Indian opener’s first T20 fifty. Dhawan is very happy to play the sheet anchor’s role, rotating the strike without chewing up many deliveries. Sri Lanka strike though. Chameera gets the breakthrough as Dhawan nicks the ball to the keeper, trying to run the ball to third man . S Dhawan c Dickwella b Chameera 51 (25)
India 70/0 in 6 overs The Indians have raced away and there is no stopping the boundary hitting of Dhawan. The bowling has been terrible too and the pitch has little assistance for the pacers. 200 is on the cards, and may be brought up by the 15th year. Dhawan has now flown to 48 from mere 20 balls. India 44/0 in 4 overs The Indians have blazed away here and Shikhar Dhawan hit a sparkling six over deep mid-wicket against Sachitra Senanayake. Dhawan cracks four fours in the over.
India 18/0 in 2 overs Positive start by India and both openers have got the ball rolling with a few brisk shots. There is a little more caution in the batsmen’s strokemaking the foolhardiness that was on display in the opening game. That didn’t stop Shikhar Dhawan from flicking the ball over deep square-leg for a six. Catch the Live Scorecard of the match here
Sri Lankans have won the toss and it is going to be the same as the first game. Both teams remain unchanged from the 1st game.

The T20 series between India and Sri Lanka to be held in the February month of 2016 consists of 3 matches. They will be organized in Pune, Ranchi and Vishakhapatnam and could prove to be the last rehearsal for the T20 world cup to be held later in the year. Sri Lanka was to be led by Angelo Mathews however he is injured. India would be spearheaded by MS DHONI, the only captain who has won both T20 and One day world cup for the team.
After losing the opening T20I against Sri Lanka, MS Dhoni & Co have the last chance to keep the three-match series alive on Friday, when they lock horns with the visitors at JSCA International Cricket Stadium, Ranchi.
A batting collapse in Pune, while facing an inexperienced pace attack, emerged as the prime reason behind the shocking defeat.
Undoubtedly, unlike Indian tracks, the Pune pitch was a lively one, which offered pace and bounce to the seamers. But one can’t run away with the fact that poor shot selection also cost India dearly as they managed to put up a paltry total of 101 runs, when offered to bat first.
Players to watch out for:
Rohit Sharma: In the absence of Virat Kohli, eyes would be on the opener, who got out cheaply in the first match. In the 2nd T20I, the in-form big-hitter, who had a fruitful series Down Under, would like to take the revenge from Sri Lankan bowlers. If he gets a start, he can easily destroy the Lankan bowling line-up. Capable of playing a big knocks, ‘Hitman’ can take the match away from the visitors single-handedly.
Kasun Rajitha: The young pacer has started his international career on a high. After a dream start in his debut match against India, the bowler has already become a household name in Sri Lanka. In the opening match, he created havoc in the Indian batting line-up by picking three wickets in his first three overs. All eyes would certainly be on the 22-year-old Matara-born pacer, when he takes the field in the 2nd T20I on Friday.
